Where am I now?

Hello all, I am currently in Des Moines, Iowa but let me back up and tell you about our journey here! Before I begin I would like to know if any one is actually reading this. I was so hoping to get at least a hello for the ladies I am writing this for (you know who you are) and have sadly not gotten anything :( is any one out there? Last I posted we were in cheyanne, WYoming. We left. Early in the morning and headed for Ogallala, Nebraska. It was only about 170 miles and it was a nice break from the car! We were going to a dinner show that started at 6 and got there pretty early so we checked out the town. It was very small but they had a beautiful lake called Lake McConaughy. There are cute little cabins that I would love to stay in. The land was also very beautiful. There would be fields of gold wheat right next to really dark green grass. I,m mad at myself that I didn't get a picture of this because it was truly amazing! After our look around the town we went to a steak house for dinner and I had the best steak ever! This was at this really cute complex that they made look old fashioned like we were visiting a saloon. After our dinner there was a mock gun fight outside between the cowboys and then we were entertained by a saloon show complete with the high-kicking saloon girls. It was a really cute show put on by some high school and college students. It was a comedy/history/dance/singing show filled with some clever adult humor. After the show I got to Experience my first Midwest lightning storm! It looked like a crazy light show in the sky. At first I was a little scared but then it was actually really cool to watch. Our hotel was about an hour away so we were driving in it for a while. Earlier in the day we had gotten a call from hot-wire (which is who we have been booking our hotels through) explaining that they had overbooked our room and that they were going to relocate us to another hotel and just cover the difference. We decided that would be fine as long as we had two beds and a nonsmoking room like we asked. So when we arrived to the Howard Johnson hotel at 10pm that night we were very shocked to be given keys to not only a smelly, smoking room but also a room that had a hole in the bathroom with a hissing noise coming out of it! Tracy tried to get another room but they rudly told her they were all sold out. We couldn't stay there so we left without Tracy getting her money back, it was that bad! We ended up finding out that there were concerts in town that nigh so every hotel was sold out. So, we got back in the car and drove another hour until we finally found a hotel with a room, which we actually got the last room. I think many people stopped for the night because of the storm. The next morning we headed to Iowa! Love, Stevie (I actually started this post a couple of days ago and am behind but will try to catch up soon!)

My travels....

Hello All,

I have meant to update this the last couple of days but have had some internet issues! We left Boise on Tuesday, drove around 340 miles to Salt Lake City area. We actually stayed outside of the area in a town called Layton. It was a pretty quick stop so I am sad to say that I really didn't see too much! The drive was really pretty and I did get a glimpse of the Great Salt Lake!

The next morning we left around 10 and drove around 440 miles to Cheyanne, Wyoming which is where we currently are. The drive felt a lot longer that the drive to Salt Lake City and I think it was mainly because the land was more flat and less to look at. I did see many deer though and we kept finding letters put in the side of moutains to represent different towns so it became a game for us to find them and try to make up words from the letters we found (cheap entertainment huh!). Once we got to the hotel last night I was really exhausted!! I think I ended up in bed around 8pm. We decided to take it a little slower the next few days and actually take in some sites so it will be good to be able to relax (out of the car!) a little more. So, my next couple of post should be a little more exciting! My dad has also given me his Ipad so I am hoping I will be able to post some pictures, but I just have to figure out how to do that! =)

Love,
Stevie

p.s. I forgot to mention that there is a beauty pagent here at the hotel so there are many adorable little girls running around in these fancy dresses! It is a little crazy to see what some of them are wearing though (some things I would NEVER wear!) and the families that are with them. If you have ever seen the show on TV about the pagent kids (I cant remember the name!) but it is similar to that!

Where in the world I am.....

Hello All,

Summer has officially begun for me! The talent show went amazingly well and my students thouroughly enjoyed my dancing! =) I will try to attach a link of it if I can figure it out (I can't but its on my Facebook Page!). I left Sunday (after a fun Father's day lunch with Vic's father, sister, brother in law and daughter) for Boise, Idaho to begin my summer travels. I will be heading to Florida on a road trip to help my brother and Tracy move there. We will be taking our time getting there so will be passing through many new states, which I am very excited for! We will take about 10 days to get there so there will be many stops. I will also be able to spend some time in Florida and I am especially looking forward to the beaches and checking out the new Harry Potter park at Universal Studios. So, that is what I am up to these days!

Where will I be next? You will just have to wait and see!

Love,
Stevie

Long Enough?

Hello All,

I know, I know! I am horrible at posting on here. I have said this before but I enjoy reading what your guys are up to and I'm sure you would enjoy to read what I am up to as well! So, no promises but I am going to try to update more often! I am going to start a class blog next year so maybe that will help to keep me on track.

Today is the last day of this school year. This has been an interesting year to say the least. I am both excited and sad to see my class move on! Today I am going to be dancing in front of the whole school for our talent show and I honestly am a little nervous, lol! We are doing what is called and Evolution of Dance in which small groups dance to snippets of music from different time Eras. I am in the 90s and we are dancing to Vanilla Ice, M.C. Hammer and N'Sync. It should be fun and I'm sure the kids will love it! Vic and I are going to the our first  Mariners game of the season tonight with some friends so it will be a busy, fun day!

Well that is all for now as I have to head to the store to look for some bright sunglasses for our dance today. I had this post all written and accidental deleted it .... erghhh! Alright, have a happy, sunny Friday!

Girl's Weekend

This last weekend I spent in Cle Elum with a few co-workers from school. Emily's parents have a vacation home there and she was kind enough to invite 5 more of us. We left after school on Friday and headed east. It was such a fun weekend. We drank a lot of wine, went snow shoeing, ice-skating, swimming at a pool with water slides and hot tubs, and did lots of relaxing and chatting. The house we stayed in was gorgeous, and the area there was by Suncadia and was amazing. We even saw many deer and elk. I would love for us girls to do something fun like this sometime soon!
My aunt has been moved to a nursing home. She started Chemo on Monday and was there for 5 hours!!! I can't even imagine! My dad has been in town the last couple of weeks but is returning home for a couple of days. I know my aunt is concerned to be alone so much and I wish I could be there with her more, but of course I have to work. My dad also informed me that they are planning to move to Florida soon. Just surprises me that he wants to move so far away from us and especially Hannah, but that's just my opinion. Can you tell I'm a little bitter about this! =) Just a quick update for you all. I hope everyone is doing well and I hope to talk/see everyone soon!
love,
Stevie

Seahawks and Resolutions

So even though the Seahawks lost today I am still impressed/shocked at how far they made it. I mean they made it to the playoffs with a LOSING record! Crazy!! Vic and I went to Dani's work to watch the game this morning but ended up leaving at half-time because frankly we were not impressed. When I turned it back on I was shocked to see that they started playing better, but not enough in the end. While watching the game I had a Bloody Mary for the first time. I always didn't want to try it because I'm not a fan of tomatoes, but was surprised at how much I did like it, although it was hard for me to finish it all. Has anyone else had one?

This afternoon I met up with Cassie and we went to the mall for some returns, early dinner and a movie. We saw Black Swan, which was actually my second time seeing it. It is an interesting movie, and I enjoyed seeing it a second time because I was able to pick up on more things that I did not notice the first time. It is intense though and makes you think. After seeing it the first time I actually went home and did some research on it to make more sense of it. I guess that is why it is a psychological thriller.

Lately I have been thinking a lot about how I miss hanging out with girlfriends. I find that since Vic and I live together we do everything together and although I love hanging out with him I miss having girl time! It's not that I don't ever hang out with my girlfriends (I did hang out with Cassie today) but I guess it is just not the same anymore. I know it will just get harder when I have a family of my own. I just hope that in the future we can take weekend getaway trips together!

I also miss traveling. One of my resolutions this year is to get some of my student loans and credit cards payed off so I can start saving money for some traveling. I would love to go back to Scarborough where I studied. Have a great week!

I'm Back!

I know I have been so bad about posting on here. So bad I know some people have given up on looking at my blog (sorry Kayleen!), but I realized how much I enjoy checking in on my friends and seeing how they are doing and I should be doing the same too! So I'm sorry to my friends!

This has been a really interesting start to the new year. My goal is to get back into shape and I am trying to work out every morning before work. Vic just got a new job at Boeing in which I am dropping him off at 6am, so I figure I should just go home and work out. It's been hard to do this so far because I just want to go back home and go back to sleep. I have managed to go work out a few times, but sadly the sleep option has become more appealing. Mainly because I have had a lot of stress headaches.

On Tuesday I found out that my Aunt's cancer has returned. She had breast cancer 2 years ago. She had been having a lot of pain the last 2 weeks in her hip to the point that she was not able to walk or even lay in bed. She finally decided to go the hospital for a scan and they unfortuantly found a tumor in her hip. She was then told to go home, pack a bag, and head to Swedish in Seattle. This was the day of the snowstorm, but I figured that I would be okay to go visit her. Once I got there it was snowing, but didn't seem to be sticking to much. Vic's friend was ironically going into the same hospital the next for heart surgery so he went to meet up with him. Long story short, as I was visiting with my Aunt it started to snow hard and was sticking! I was getting ready to leave when her doctor came in so I wanted to chat with him. After he left I told my aunt I had to head out, which I felt horrible having to leave her at the hospital alone not knowing what was going on. She started to cry talking about my grandma (who passed away from cancer) and how she wants to live to see her grandaughter (my cousin is 4 months pregnant). Basically it was so hard to leave! When I got in the car it was crazy out, to the point that I wanted to just get a hotel in seattle for the night! But Vic said we could make it. Once we got onto the Viaduct we hit an ice chunk. I told Vic that I thought the car was more wobbly than normal, but he assured me that it was because of the snow. Well we almost didn't make it up 520, which I never realized how much of a hill it was, and about had a panic attack thinking we were going to have to leave my car on the side of the road and walk home. We finally made to Safeway near our place when I discovered we had a flat tire which we were driving on the whole way back home! Poor Vic had to get onto the ground and change the tire in the middle of all the crazy snow. We fianlly made it home by midnight! It was a crazy night.

We have found out the my Aunt's cancer has formed in her other breast, lungs, liver, and bones, stage 4 cancer! It's tough to handle right now so I would appreciate if you would keep her in your thoughts and prayers for me. It's tough to see someone you love go through so much pain!! <3
